What made you decide to become a URA?

As a curious person in nature, interaction with researchers from various fields at academic conferences and seminars made me think that I would be able to learn many more things if I would engage in supporting promising researchers rather than work on my own research. I also thought taking this path would let me contribute efficiently to the development of world technology and society.

History

  • B.A., Faculty of Economics, Kyoto University

    Lecturer, 個別指導の学ラボ (cram school)

M.A., Graduate School of Education, Kyoto University

Research Fellowship (DC1), Japan Society for the Promotion of Science

Collaborative Graduate Program in Design, Kyoto University Design School (optional course)

Ph.D. candidate, Graduate School of Education, Kyoto University

Additional comments

  • When I was a graduate student, I dedicated myself to the study of the human mind. I wanted to reveal how the interaction between gene polymorphisms and environment affects people’s attitude/belief/perception through brain activities.
Now, I devote myself to support researchers at Kyoto University. During my free time, on the other hand, I enjoy going touring on my lovely partner, 隼 (Hayabusa; Suzuki’s biggest motorbike). Though there are a lot of beautiful places in Japan, if limited to Kyoto, I recommend the 京北 (Keihoku) 〜 美山 (Miyama) area! Unlike central Kyoto-city, the area gives people a chance to experience an authentic feel of rural Japan.
