【SPIRIT2】

The “SPIRIT2” program is the successor to “SPIRITS”, an internal grant that ended in FY2022。
The program is aimed to further enhance Kyoto University’s academic research and create so-called “small island-type research areas” that increase the diversity of this research.
(small island-type research areas:  budding research expected to develop into new research areas with a global presence.)

This program seeks to fund teams of at least three investigators with the goal of creating innovative new research areas in all fields of science, including humanities and social sciences, and at all stages of development from basic to applied research. There is no restriction on the degree/scale of the research area nor on the teams’ previous achievements related to the proposal.
