Message for researchers

I look forward to getting to know you and your ideas, and to help you navigate through the ever-changing landscape of research.

Specialized field/skill

Musicology, Sound Studies, Media Studies, Popular Culture Studies

What made you decide to become a URA?

During my PhD, I had opportunities to work as an assistant for professors and realized how much I enjoy helping others with their research. So when I came across the job of research administrator, I instantly became interested in it.

History

  • Bachelor of Music (Hons), Department of Music, King's College London
Master of Music., Department of Music, Graduate School, King's College London
Master of Arts in Musicology, Department of Music, Graduate School, Cornell University

Additional comments

  • As a graduate student, my areas of interest ranged from eighteenth- and nineteenth-century vocal music and sounds and music of films, to Nintendo games and keyboard-operated "speaking/singing" machines. My dissertation research examines the tape recorder at and as the intersections between politics, culture, and mass media, and experimentalism and the everyday in postwar Japan.

On weekends, I enjoy walking around looking for interesting (and yummy) things, or stay at home listening to music and watching random things on the Internet.
