Kyoto University offers various internal funds with different aims for our researchers. These internal funds include not only start-up funds or bridging funds to be used to scale up to a larger project, but also funds for initiating international/interdisciplinary research projects, in order to respond to various needs of the researchers.

Internal Grants for obtaining KAKENHI

Start-up 

Support young researchers who are newly employed by the university to start their research career.

ISHIZUE 

Support researchers who are considering further expansion of their research to obtain KAKENHI in higher research categories.

Core Stage Back-Up

Support outstanding researchers who were unable to receive KAKENHI (Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research) in the large-scale category for the current academic year to regain KAKENHI funding in the large-scale category in the next fiscal year.

 

SPIRITS

'SPIRITS' (Supporting Program for Interaction-based Initiative Team Studies), is a trans-border program aiming to accelerate the internationalization of Kyoto University by creating an environment that encourages to push the boundaries of frontier research and protosciences, and promotes the creation of innovative practices.

AI DA

'AI DA ' (Ambitious Intelligence ・ Dynamic  Acceleration), promotes internationalization of research in collaboration with international funding agencies etc., in which we aim to accelerate carrier development of ambitious early carrier researchers (ECRs).
