CREST/PRESTO/ACT-X & AMED-CREST/PRIME 2019

01.31 (Thu)2019

CREST/PRESTO/ACT-X research programs are administered by JST through the annual open call for proposals, which is announced in April every year.

The call welcomes applications for programs designed mainly for natural science with specific research themes set by Research Supervisors and JST.

The purpose of Strategic Basic Research Programs (戦略事業/Senryaku Jigyo in Japanese) called CREST/PRESTO/ACT-X is to advance basic research aimed at achieving solutions for key issues facing Japan, and create the seeds of innovative technologies from new scientific knowledge that gives rise to scientific and technical innovation leading to social and economic change.

Similarly, AMED is to announce calls for proposal for AMED-CREST, PRIME around the same time in April every year. The themes cover various aspects of life science.

AMED-CREST under Advanced R&D Programs for Medical Innovation aims to create and incubate revolutionary breakthroughs with the goals of creating drugs, medical devices, medical technologies, and other innovations.
